Dexter’s Iconic ‘SLICE of LIFE’ Boat Makes First Public Appearance, Stealing the Show at Scaradise 2025

TAMPA, Fla. — The annual Scaradise horror convention, held Oct. 3-5, 2025, in Tampa, drew thousands of horror enthusiasts for a weekend of celebrity meet-and-greets, panels, and chilling attractions. Among the standout moments at this year’s event was the appearance of the “SLICE of LIFE,” the iconic boat from the hit TV series “Dexter,” meticulously maintained by its current owners, James and Danielle Judge.

The vessel, featured in all eight seasons of the Showtime series from 2006 to 2013 as Dexter Morgan’s go-to for disposing of his victims in the waters off Miami, captivated fans at Scaradise 2025. Despite its dramatic “destruction” in the show’s finale, the real-life boat remains in pristine condition, thanks to the Judges’ dedication to preserving this piece of television history.

Throughout the convention, fans flocked to the “SLICE of LIFE,” eagerly waiting to step aboard and snap photos, many mimicking Dexter’s infamous garbage-bag disposal scenes. The boat’s first time at a fan event, offered a tangible connection to the series, thrilling attendees with its authenticity.

The excitement peaked when four “Dexter” cast members—Jennifer Carpenter, Erik King, David Zayas, and Desmond Harrington—reunited with the boat on the convention’s final day, Oct. 5. The group posed for photos with James and Danielle Judge, creating a nostalgic moment for attendees and cast alike.

In a heartfelt highlight, Jennifer Carpenter, who played Debra Morgan, was invited by the Judges to sign the boat’s center console door. Marking her first return to the “SLICE of LIFE” since filming the series finale 12 years ago, Carpenter’s autograph added a new layer of legacy to the vessel.

The Judges, passionate “Dexter” fans themselves, shared their pride in showcasing the boat. “Bringing the ‘Slice of Life’ to Scaradise is about giving fans a chance to connect with the show in a unique way,” James Judge said.

The convention also featured a lively “Dexter” cast panel, where the actors shared behind-the-scenes stories and reflected on the show’s enduring impact. Photos from Scaradise 2025, including the cast’s reunion with the “Slice of Life” and fans’ creative photo ops, have since flooded social media, cementing the boat’s status as a beloved relic of the series.
